Guitar modification?

I have a cheap strat copy, and want to modify it for sound experimentation - kill switches, coil splits...what else? I've heard that booster switchs exist too. Is there a list of mods that i can use? Its not my main guitar, so i don't care if anything goes wrong. Tnx
