Is it weird to be from the north, but admire the Confederates as far as the Civil War goes?
Well, I am from New England (a region whose mostly left-wing politics and public school propaganda about how the Civil War started over slavery, when Lincoln admitted he wanted the North to win the Civil War, no matter if he had to free the slaves or not to do that annoy me greatly) but happen to be a libertarian and a strong states' rights supporter. I think that both the U.S. and Confederate sides had incredibly brave men who fought for what they believe in, but I think that were it not for Abe Lincoln, a staunch Hamiltonian, civil war might have been avoided in the first place. Civil war was not a certainty until Lincoln became President. I don't hate Lincoln, but I hate big government. I also know I might be called a racist and a slavery supporter, when I despise those charges.
