What Kind of Tripod ?

i want to get a tripod for my brand new jvc everio camcorder, but i dont know much about them. is it a kind of one size fits all kind of deal?? or do i have to buy a specific tripod for my specific camera??? or maybe, is it just like a jvc brand of tripod that i have to buy??? somebody help please!!
