Is a Scion tC a good starter car?

I am 16 and I am thinking about getting a Scion tC. I mainly want to get it because it is a relatively cheap car compared to others, and it is a car that I can modify easily. If anyone that owns one of these can give me your opinions on the car, I would be greatly appreciative.
