Foot tattoo question?

Im thinking about getting one this weekend,but i was told the foot is a hard place to take care of a tattoo? I heard it can get infected very easy and the color can lift alot in the first few months and you have to go back and get it recolored? I have 5 tattoos but i really want one on my foot but everyone told me its a pain in the azz to take care of? Any advice or trips?
